Welcome to CAEPA!
Welcome to the
website of the Colorado Adult Education Professional Association, CAEPA!
We hope that you will find all of the information you need about our
various programs and initiatives here. CAEPA is the largest professional
organization for adult educators in Colorado and provides leadership in
professional development and advocacy.
Click on the
“Conference” tab to find out about our upcoming conference, Rendezvous
2008 – Sharing Success: Adult Learners in Transition held March
13 & 14, 2008, at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel in Lakewood. The
conference will feature over 40 workshops on adult education topics such
as ABE/GED teaching, ESL, administration, family literacy, and more. A
draft of the conference schedule is available here on the website, and
information will be updated regularly. We are thrilled to have Peter
Waite, Executive Director of ProLiteracy America and Vice President for
US Programs for ProLiteracy Worldwide as our Keynote Speaker. Register
now – you won’t want to miss this opportunity to network with colleagues
and sharpen your skills at a professional conference!
“What is Literacy”
at the top of this page features key definitions in the field of adult
education and links to more information. “Links” features addresses of
literacy organizations and adult education programs. We would like to
develop a more complete list of CAEPA member programs, so if you would
like to add a link to your program’s website, please send your request
to Jolene Goerend at
[email protected].
The CAEPA
Newsletter will also be featured on the website. You will find articles
on research-based teaching practices, conference announcements,
legislative updates, and opportunities for awards and scholarships. We
would like to feature outstanding teachers and students in each issue,
so if you would like to submit an article for inclusion in the
newsletter, please send it to Stephanie Moran at
[email protected].
Thank you for
visiting the CAEPA website! Please feel free to contact any member of
the Board of Directors if you have further questions.
Yours truly,
Margie Wagner,
Board President
